In the movie, Interview with the Vampire, at the end, Daniel is attacked in his car by Lestat, who implies that he’ll turn him into a vampire. In the book, Daniel leaves Louis intending to seek out Lestat in New Orleans. He is turned into a vampire by Armand in The Queen of the Damned.
