In the book, Dorian Gray, Dorian rejects Sibyl when she is no longer able to act well. Dorian had taken Basil and Lord Henry to see her perform after bragging about her skill as an actress. When she does such a poor job, he is both ashamed and embarrassed. He rejects her because of this, and she kills herself by swallowing acid. In the movie, she leaves him and kills herself because he cheated on her.

In the book, Interview with the Vampire, when Louis finishes his story, Daniel asks to be turned into a Vampire. Louis is furious and sucks his blood til he is unconscious. In the movie, Louis throttles him, but does not drink his blood.

In the book, Interview with the Vampire, after Claudia is killed, Louis joins Armand and travels around Eastern Europe together for many years. In the movie, Louis cannot forgive Armand for his part in Claudia’s death and he leaves Paris and roams around alone for many years.

In the book, The Hunger Games, Katniss only knows that she receives a token of District 11’s appreciation for helping Rue in the form of a gift dropped into the arena. In the movie, the complete reaction of District 11 is brought into greater focus. Readers don’t hear of this until the sequel.

In the book, The Hunger Games, Katniss recognizes a mutilated servant girl: Avox while in the Capitol. Avox was trying to escape from the Capitol, but was caught. Labeled a traitor, her tongue was removed. We learn the back story of this girl and how Katniss regrets not trying to save her when she had the chance. This is never revealed in the movie.

In the book, The Hunger Games, the assumption is that Cato killed Thresh. But in the movie, the suggestion is that he died at the hands of a group of dogs that the game makers have called into battle.
